When I wanted to look for a different kind of article, the Idea of interviewing a freshman popped into my head. I didn’t know how it would turn out especially after I decided to interview my own sister, who is an annoying freshman who walks on the wrong side of the hallway. I will give her some credit she’s transitioned very smoothly from the middle school to the high school. I decided to ask her some questions about school and her life outside of school.
What is a major difference between the middle school and the high school?
There’s more freedom at the high school than the middle school, you’re given more responsibility, there’s more work and pressure, but it’s more fun because you were limited on activities and free time at the middle school.
I know you’ve adjusted well since making the transition to the high school, what has the hardest part been so far?
The hardest part has probably been getting all of the work done and keeping my grade at a good enough level that i’m not stressing over them all of the time.
What is your favorite thing about the high school? Also what is your least favorite thing about it?
My favorite thing is the overall atmosphere of the high school and just knowing that i won’t be bored everyday and my least favorite thing is the way a lot of the people act sometimes because they do and say dumb stuff and it’s aggravating.
What is your hardest subject, and your easiest?
My sister responded with very in depth answers about her ongoing academic and athletic career at Highlands High School. I think she would be the perfect person to interview because she’s a very relatable person and has common views among the class of 2021.
Would you like to try any different sports or be involved in any activities as you continue your career at Highlands?
I’ll probably just stick with cross country and track or maybe try tennis but i really want to do softball again.
What is it like having a big brother that can help you with homework and that can give you good advice to make high school not as hard?
It’s reassuring to know that I have someone that can help me and that has been at the high school long enough to really know everything and help me if I have questions on homework or just basic tips that can really help me.
What kind of classes are you going to take for the rest of high school?
I’ll hopefully stick with honors classes and hopefully take calc 2 when I’ma senior and continuing to take honors classes and multiple math classes with help me excel.
What profession would you like to be when you’re older, and how are you going to try to hold that position someday?
I would like to be a lawyer or do something that revolves around law or something of that caliber and I need to study and work hard if I want to reach that goal.
