As the end of my senior year continues to approach, I could not help to think about everything that has happened while I was here at Highlands. Some of these are either positive or negative, but I prefer to dwell on all of the good things that I experienced. For most people, not only do the best memories come from high school, but maybe from the elementary school or middle school. For me, however, all of my best memories happened during my high school years.

First and foremost, the majority of my favorite high school memories are the field trips that I went on, some of them in which were during the school day. In my eleventh grade year, the AP U.S. History classes went to the Fort Pitt Museum down in Pittsburgh, where we learned about the history of Fort Pitt. Another one of my favorite in school trips was when the German level three and four classes went on a trip to the Cathedral of Learning, which is at the University of Pittsburgh. We went into the old rooms that were there when the Cathedral first started. Some of the other rooms we went into dealt with different cultures, such as Korean and Japanese. After that, we went to the Hofbrauhaus, which served German food. Beside the Hofbrauhaus was the Cheesecake Factory, where everyone got different types Most of my favorite trips were the ones for Foreign Language Club, but my favorite one was at Max’s Allegheny Tavern in East Allegheny. The food there was great and it was a great opportunity to get to know people in Foreign Language Club.

Overall, everyone has to at least have one great memory from their school career, whether it’s a sporting event. musical, etc. It’s always best to try to make the best memories possible so that your experience in high school goes smoothly, and it becomes enjoyable.
