What is the first thing that comes to mind whenever somebody says the words “Thug Life.” Is it violence, or gangs, or drugs? Most people probably picture one of the three if not all of these things. However, Thug Life, is actually an acronym standing for “The Hate You Give Little Infants F***s Everybody.” The acronym was popularized by rapper Tupac in the nineties.

Today the new movie The Hate You Give starring activist Amanda Stenberg, still utilizes this acronym to spread a message within this modern day film. Angie Thomas, which is the author of the best selling novel that the movie is based on uses ‘Thug Life” to show the racial injustices that are still relevant within the U.S today. Not only that, but it also has an entertaining storyline with comedy as well as many tear jerking moments. The movie is extremely well made and should be seen by people of every race, gender and age.
