We would like to congratulate Austin Langer (10, French Horn) and Luna Vavourakis (12, Alto Saxophone) on an outstanding performance at PMEA Region Band Friday evening.  This honors festival was hosted by New Castle High School under the direction of guest conductor, Dr. Stephen Gage of Youngstown State University.

The PMEA Region 1 Band is comprised of approximately 150 students, representing 63 school districts.  Luna placed 2nd in her section and has advanced to the PMEA All-State Wind Ensemble!  States will be in Pittsburgh this year, in early April.  This will also be Highlands’ third consecutive showing at the all-state band festival in recent years.
