The musical cast of 2019 has spent endless hours, 216 to be exact, preparing for the premier of The Hunchback of Notre Dame this weekend. After auditions in November, the cast had no idea what kind of challenge they were up against. As the biggest production brought to life on the stage of HHS, rehearsals began in December with vocals, and choreography began the first day back from Christmas Break.

In order to learn the show, the cast had to learn, and comprehend another language, Latin. A frequent lyric within the show is “Kyrie Eleison”, which translates to “Lord have Mercy”. Any of the cast members would agree that the Latin was the most difficult part of this show. However, we knew that our great reputation with musicals could not end with the cast of 2019, so we pushed through, worked hard, and gave it our all. Some of our favorite scenes are Topsy Turvey, and Tavern Song (Tai Mol Piyas). They were difficult to learn, but fun to make our own and create an exhilarating scene! The final scene of the show pulls together the moral lessons that were shown throughout and brings back the common theme of “What makes a monster and what makes a man?”. If you love a show with a good plot, great dancing, incredible vocals, and an amazing cast, crew, and pit, then this ones for you!

If you dont have tickets already, there’s still some to sell at the door! The shows are March 29 at 7:00, March 30 at 7:00, and March 31 at 2:00. After each show join the cast of The Hunchback of Notre Dame at the Topsy Turvey Social!

Hope to see you there!
