On October 28, 2018, the Boston Red Sox won their 9th World Series title against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The last out cam from Dodgers’ Manny Machado as Red Sox Pitcher Chris Sale struck him out. Boston lead the series 4-1 against the Dodgers.  The Red Sox finished 2018 with 119 total wins, including the postseason, the second-most of any championship team in history, trailing only the 125-win New York Yankees of 1998. They went 11-3 in the playoffs. Red Sox players celebrated their win at Icon Nightclub in Boston. A source reports that they were given $100,00 in champagne from a neighboring club. As the Red Sox celebrated Sunday night, the Dodgers could only watch as an all too familiar frustration set in. They suffered through a similar experience just last year, when the Astros won the World Series on this very field. Despite winning their sixth straight division title and their second consecutive pennant, the Dodgers now head into the winter still in search of their first championship since 1988
